Around 140 rainy days a year, and councils gritting hundreds of miles of road from October onwards. A car that sits outside — or in a damp garage — through that is corroding, discharging and degrading the whole time.
Road salt corrosion
Dissolved grit salt forms an electrolyte that accelerates rust on underbodies, brake lines and arches — and it keeps bare metal damp for days after the roads dry.
Damp & condensation
Cold-warm cycles condense moisture inside panels, lights and interiors. Mould in the cabin, misted lamps, surface rust on discs — classic symptoms of a British winter lay-up done badly.
Flat, sulphated battery
A modern car loses charge parked. Below freezing it happens faster, and a battery left flat for weeks sulphates — often beyond saving.

Once inside, a breathable cover is fitted and an automatic battery conditioner is connected. Consequently, the vehicle remains in pristine condition throughout its stay.

Winter storage FAQs
September. Demand for storage peaks just before gritting season starts in October, and dehumidified bays are the first to fill. Booking early also means we can collect before the first salt goes down.
Yes — access is by arrangement with 24 hours’ notice, all through winter. Plenty of owners take a crisp dry January day for a run. We’ll have it off the conditioner and ready when you arrive.
Terms are flexible. Most winter clients stay October to March or April (about 6 months), but there’s no rigid lock-in — short-term and longer stays both work.
The facility is comprehensively insured, with 24/7 CCTV, a monitored alarm and gated access. Most owners also keep their own laid-up (SORN’d) policy running — we’re happy to talk through what makes sense for your car.
Secure indoor is £150/month (first 3 months, then £165) and dehumidified is £200/month (then £225) — so a typical 6-month winter is roughly £945–£1,275 depending on the option. Collection, valeting and workshop time are priced separately on request.
